Calle Ladero is a house in Tucson. The project is centered around issues of desert life. Formally it investigates the courtyard plan as a way of distinquishing an interior and exterior. Tensions between the perimeter and the plan are critical. The project uses the slope of the site and mechanisms of the plan to create multiple readings of the project, dependant upon one’s position in relation to the courtyard.
